Do you lot feel that? The ground shaking?? That's me, considering I'm doing backflips over here with excitement!
The Living Room area of my home tour, is finally complete!
(Well, at least to a signal where I feel satisfied enough to show it to y'all now.) 😉
Home Tour Office 15 – The Living Room
If you've followed the home tour from the very beginning, you know by now that I had to get a bit creative and design my style around my husbands style. (And by that I hateful, he has Two "elk," mounts in our home. Yeah, I said, "elk.")
I've kept the theme in the bulk of the house, a "modern-craftsman," look… which has resulted in a lot of browns, whites, grays, blacks, and pops of light-green. And lanterns… I heart lanterns…
Oh how I've always wanted a fireplace in ane of our hundreds of homes we've lived in. At that place's something about that commencement cold day of the year, when "building a fire," (aka, pushing the "on," push), and y'all feel the warmth hit y'all.
But I have to say, the matter I love most about a having a fireplace, is decorating the mantle. A place to hang Christmas stockings, and change upwardly the decor for every season. When there's not a flavour, "about," I usually have it decorated with my "go-to," neutral colors.
I happened across these cotton fiber plant stems the other twenty-four hour period, and KNEW they had to go on my mantle. I dear that "pop," of white, confronting the night stone.
I take a bit of an obsession with big, fuzzy, hirsuite, blankets. But looking at them, brand you feel all cozy-like. I stuffed one in a felt basket, and it fabricated the cozy fireplace look even more "cozy."
My sisters will maybe express mirth at this adjacent photograph. Bluntly because, they know my obsession with clocks. The girls in my family unit all went on a shopping trip a few months agone, and they really saw my clock obsession "smoothen," when I packed 5 clocks in to the back of my SUV after leaving the store.
Oh and boxwood plants… I can't become enough of boxwood plants.
So moral: Clocks, Boxwood Plants, and Lanterns… consummate me.
Adding small pillows to each "sitting," piece of furniture in your firm can add that extra "pop," of colour and dissimilarity that you lot'll need. Fifty-fifty if it is but a subtle color contrast like below. {White and gray} Information technology helps make the area non wait so plain-jane, and actually ties in it's surroundings.
You lot ready for the big surprise of my whole living room bout?????
Do you lot see that BEAUTIFUL thing sitting there? I am Beyond excited to show you my new exclusive from Big Lots . Yep! Big Lots! I had no idea that they had article of furniture, permit lone stunning, affordable, and "quality," type of furniture! My friends & family are flabbergasted when I tell them how much it cost, and where I found it. Needless to say, my friends & family members at present know where they're going to look first when information technology comes to needing piece of furniture in their own homes.
From the moment I walked in to the store, I KNEW it was the exclusive that I wanted. I immediately barbarous in love. Information technology was like it was calling out,
Oh Jessica … come here! I'chiliad right over here! 😉
Here it is, up close and personal. It'south as cushy and comfy as information technology looks… promise.
And so do you see that longer part there on the right? Oh yes… I laid on that the minute I got it in my living room. I may or may not have caught a little shut-heart on that corner of the couch. 😉
I've had the pillows FOR-evah, merely that'southward the beauty of decorating with neutral colors. I was able to use the pillows I had on hand to spice things up a bit.
Oh yes, in that location it is. The special "bear on," of my husband in the room. The elk. From this angle information technology doesn't look like a "huge," accessory… simply trust me… it is.
My little guy had to put a little special touch in the room too, with his Superman cape. 😉
The high ceilings in our house make the rooms feel so much bigger than they are. Until nosotros had them, I didn't realize how much I loved them.
I wanted to capture the whole room for you, because sometimes only seeing bits and pieces of areas… tin be hard to put together. You'll run across the hallway and vestibule entrance off to the right.
My wall gallery features a family unit photo, and favorite images and sayings of our family. I created a mail service a while dorsum of my wall gallery, giving you an up-close and personal expect.
Even the dorsum view of my new sectional is appealing… which is good for an open up floor programme similar we have!
Desire a peek at the before??? Oh mylanta … my youngest had a hay-day, creating a "slide," on that plastic covering on the new sectional. 🙂
Thanks so much for joining me on my living room dwelling house bout! If you lot're here for the offset fourth dimension, you tin can see the unabridged home tour here: Fantabulosity Home Tour
End Note: Furniture shopping can be a elevate. Visiting shop after store, making a huge conclusion on something can be draining. I really actually recommend stopping at Large Lots get-go. The customer service was incredible {I didn't have that "pushy" car salesman approach from the employees that I'll typically feel in furniture stores… just then they can collect their commission and get home. Information technology was like they were there solely to aid make my purchase, an easy 1.}
Keep in mind, even if you admire my sectional, styles and assortment vary by shop.
I seriously nigh peed my pants when I watched this YouTube video of these women and their reaction. Information technology's sooo me and my friends:
